BTS AG Hair
Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a good week. It's been a bit quiet over here for us and mostly because it's been tough getting back into the swing of things. January is always typically slow for us because of our two week holiday break but something about this year feels like any momentum we had to get back into work got squashed. Anyone else feeling the same? I hope we're not the only ones, haha! Anyway, we're coming at you with another fun BTS post that we've been meaning to do for a while. This shoot took place back in May of 2021 where we worked with a hair care brand called AG Hair. Our task was to create some new content for them to be able to use in the Spring and Summer. The products we worked with for this shoot the most came from their plant-based essentials collection which meant that we were going to get to work with a lot of plants and fresh ingredients. I honestly love any opportunity that we can get to work with fresh foods and plants. It just really brings everything to life.
Elle did a phenomenal job art directing this shoot and coming up with all of the unique set design and props. She really played around with a lot of different textures including a terrazzo/granite style backdrop, several square columns and round stands that had a ribbed texture, as well as using round dowels as a background element. It was really fun to see it all come together. We'll be putting up all the final images from this shoot on our site very soon so I'll be sure to come back with another before vs after post of some of our favorite shots and share a little bit more about the post-production that went into this particular shoot.
As for any issues or troubleshooting that we had to do during the shoot, we actually were missing a flower that we weren't able to find in season and so we knew that we had to make some photoshop magic happen in post-production. However, planning for where the flower would be in the photo and in one of the stop motions made for quite a bit of trial and error. Another trouble shooting moment was figuring out how we were going to make all of the round dowels stand up for a couple of the shots. They were quite heavy so we had to use quite a good amount of putty to get them to stand straight. It was quite the mission so we had to work pretty quickly, haha! Aside from that, I'd say it was a pretty successful shoot and I absolutely loved the way that everything came out! See below for some BTS shots from this project. Enjoy!
Is it the weekend yet?
