BTS Zippz

Hi everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start. I'm coming back at you with another behind-the-scenes post and I'm especially giddy to share and talk about this recent shoot we did for a personalized CBD supplement brand. If you are in our Sunday level group, you might have heard us talk about this project during our recent monthly zoom call. This was a client in which we started off pretty rocky and by the time of the actual shoot, everything worked out splendidly. I think you can tell that we had a lot of fun with this shoot simply because of the colors and the fantastic sets and styling that Elle put together. It was also a really fun shoot to edit because of how vibrant the imagery and stop motion was. So, let's get into it shall we!

The shoot consisted of 15 images and 3 GIFs and while that's typically more than we do in a single shoot, we went for it anyway because some of the sets were fairly simple and we knew that we could get it done in a day. I definitely don't think we could have swung this had the sets and styling been more complicated. Some of the shoot colors included an aqua green, royal blue, banana yellow, and a periwinkle. I don't think we've ever worked with such an interesting combinations of colors but we found ourselves absolutely loving it.

Our client really wanted us to really focus on the ingredients in their products. I can still hear them saying "more ingredients... more!" Haha. And so a lot of the styling was really about highlighting their products and said ingredients. One of the things that surprised us most about this shoot is how realistic some of the flowers and food props looked in the shoot. A majority of the florals were artificial and purchased online from Afloral and Amazon. As for the rest of the props, Elle chose to incorporate some of our trusty Moodelier props to elevate and add levels to the final images. Aside from having to explain and reassure our client that you don't need to go overboard with the props to make a big impact, the shoot went super well and we were pretty stoked about the results.

When it came to the post-production phase, I ended up doing quite a bit of work to match their brand colors since we all know that we can't get them perfectly right during production.  I also created a few composited images that included a bottle floating while supplements fell out on the floor, a floating bottle and ingredients shot, and a box with bottles "exploding" or jumping out of the box. Overall this shoot was super fun and I may end up showing our Sunday level membeers an edit with me for one of the composited images from this shoot. While I can't show you all of the final images quite yet, here's some BTS and a couple of the final retouched images at the end. :)

Is it the weekend yet?
